Vaccine Clinic Vaccine Clinic: Vaccine Registration Link for Thursday June, 17 th  – Tompkins County Health Department The Tompkins County Health Department will be conducting a COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the Groton High School Gymnasium (400 Peru Road ) on Thursday, June 17 th .  It will be a Pfizer clinic and anyone 12 years old or older is eligible.  Anyone under 18 must have consent from a parent or guardian. Character Counts Recognition Character Counts Recognition: Congratulations to Framke Vitale, Emma Kennett, Jackson Slade and Jason Rabenstein for their selection as Section IV Character Counts recipients. They are recognized for their leadership on the playing field, their sportsmanship, and their character within their school. Well done - we are proud of you!
National French Contest National French Contest: Congratulations to the seven students who chose to go above and beyond the classroom to participate in the National French Contest! French 8: Willow Orr and Emily Trejo French 2: Drew Bush and Jadyn Craig. Drew received the status of Honorable Mention earning a chapter rank of 17th place, a national rank of 19th place, and placing in the 65th national percentile. French 3: Mathias Brehm and Julia Ramey French 4: Emma Kennett. She will receive a silver medal having earned a chapter rank of 6th place, a national rank of 13th place, and placing in the 85th national percentile.

Money, Money, Money Money, Money, Money: FYI - DON'T THROW AWAY MONEY... Under the federal pandemic stimulus, all children who received free or reduced-priced meals are eligible to receive SNAP benefits to offset the cost of meals during the school shutdown in the spring. As a community eligible school, this makes ALL Groton students eligible for these funds. Families already receiving benefits had these funds placed on their SNAP cards this summer. If your family does not usually receive any government benefits, you will receive a card in the mail from the Tompkin County Department of Social Services. The cards have $420 of SNAP benefits for each child enrolled in Groton schools last spring. DAILY HEALTH SCREENING DAILY HEALTH SCREENING: PLEASE BE SURE TO COMPLETE THE DAILY HEALTH SCREENING BEFORE 7:30AM. THANK YOU! If you are still having difficulty registering for the Cayuga Health daily screening please follow these steps below: 1. Go to this website:  http://groton.cayugahealth.com - YOU MUST REGISTER FIRST BEFORE YOU WILL RECEIVE DAILY SCREENING EMAILS 2. Enter your email (that is listed in SchoolTool - you can call the main offices to confirm email if necessary) 3. A verification code will then be sent to that email.  4. Copy and paste the verification code into the website and click submit. 5. You can then start adding your child's info (reminder - you need to include the full eight-digit DOB - ex. 01/06/2009) 6. If you have more than one child you will need to repeat steps 1-5.
ATHLETICS UPDATE ATHLETICS UPDATE: Section IV, of which Groton is a member, has voted to cancel the Fall Sports Season.  Section IV has voted for a three-season sport model which will start approximately January 4th.  Each season would be approximately ten weeks in length.
