All students in kindergarten through grade five have access to academic intervention services at Groton Elementary School.

Academic Intervention Services:

  • use data to identify students at risk for poor learning outcomes 

  • monitor student progress

  •  provide evidence-based interventions  

  • adjust the intensity and nature of those interventions

Data Sources for Academic Intervention Services (AIS)

Caregivers of a student receiving Academic Intervention Services (AIS) will be notified with the following information:

  • Type, location, & intervention provider

  • Frequency of intervention

  • The type of data to be collected, screening tool,  & projected review date of the child’s progress

  • Resources to improve the child’s rate of learning

  • The right to request an evaluation for special education services

Progress reports will be sent home every ten weeks.
