This week is National School Lunch Week and the theme is Taste the World. We started yesterday with visiting China and all the kids were able to try a fresh spring roll. Always lots of smilies trying new things and getting a fun airplane sticker to put on our world map that they tried something from a different country. We also had some special guests from Chef Ann Foundation Fellowiship program helping us make this a sucess. Stay tuned all week to see where we visit next.

Sound the alarm! 🚨 Our kindergarten students had an amazing field trip to the Groton Fire Department on Friday for Fire Safety Week! They loved seeing the big red trucks, learning about firefighter gear, and hearing important safety tips.

A special thank you to the wonderful crew at the Groton Fire Department for being such fantastic hosts every single year. We are so grateful for our community partners! 👩‍🚒👨‍🚒

📸 Friendship Club Fun! 💫

This week, our Friendship Club spent time building connections and spreading kindness throughout Groton Elementary! Students created friendship bracelets while learning new things about their partners, then colored uplifting pictures with positive messages to hang around our halls. 🌈

On Friday, Mrs. Owens’ and Mrs. Hubbard’s classes participated in a walking field trip around Groton to kick off their new unit on family and community.

As part of their learning, students are exploring the roles of local businesses and the different careers that support a community. Leading up to the trip, they reflected on what makes their own community special, created personalized maps, and practiced basic map-reading skills.

During the field trip, students visited a variety of local businesses, checking off each stop along their route. This hands-on experience helped students make meaningful connections between classroom learning and the world around them.
