🌟 Exploring Haudenosaunee History in 4th Grade! 🌟 Our 4th-grade students have been immersing themselves in the history and culture of the Haudenosaunee people, exploring their rich traditions through hands-on learning. As part of this journey, they designed and built incredible Longhouse models, which are now proudly displayed in our hallways and were showcased in the cafeteria for other grade levels to enjoy. A heartfelt thank you to our amazing 4th-grade teachers—Mrs. Pledger, Mr. Kingston, Ms. French, and Ms. Beck—for bringing this engaging project to life. A special shoutout goes to Mrs. Pledger’s father, Mr. Hart, for taking the time to visit and share his knowledge with our students. Your contributions made this experience unforgettable! 📸 Lacrosse Fundamentals Students learned how lacrosse, a sport with deep roots, was used by the Haudenosaunee to settle disputes among tribes. They practiced the basics of this incredible game! 🎨 Jeweled Corn Crafts Exploring the importance of corn, students created beautiful crafts and learned how this essential crop was cultivated and cherished by the Haudenosaunee. 🦌 Native American Furs Students discovered how animals played a vital role in Haudenosaunee survival, providing food, clothing, and blankets. The Haudenosaunee honored their Creator, expressing gratitude for these resources that sustained their way of life. A big THANK YOU to our families for your support in helping to make this hands-on learning experience a success. Your involvement helps bring history to life for our students! 🏹🌽🪶 #GrotonElementary #HandsOnHistory #LearningTogether #HaudenosauneeTraditions #ThankYouFamilies
