> There will be no late bus service today.
> All Modified Sports and 21st Century programming at Groton Elementary School and >Groton Jr./Sr. High School are canceled.
However, JV and Varsity Sports will proceed as scheduled.

On November 23rd in Latham, NY, senior Riley Lockwood competed in the 2024 USA Powerlifting Sincere Training Systems Classic. Riley took 3rd in the Women’s Raw Open 56 kg division and 1st in the Women’s Teen II 56 kg division with a combined squat, bench, and deadlift of 230 kg or 507 pounds! With this effort, Riley qualified and will compete in the 2025 USA Powerlifting New York State Championships on March 15th at the Albany Capital Center.

Picture Retake Day for grades 6-11 [and any senior wanting pictures taken] is November 20th from 7:45-noon in the library.


GOOD LUCK to our JV volleyball team as they play Spencer and Candor tonight at Tioga in a 3 team playoff. All three teams tied for first in the IAC small school division with a 10-2 record! Pending tonight’s results, the top two teams will play Thursday night in IAC small school championships! We are proud of you, ladies!! ✨🏐✨



REMINDER - The Groton Varsity Girls Soccer Team plays at 3:30 PM TODAY Vs. Unatego. This is the second round of Sectional play at Ross Field.

The Girls Varsity team won their first sectional game vs. Seton Catholic in a nail biter last night. The girls ended the game in regulation at 2-2 and headed into a double overtime before finally winning in a PK shootout. Goals by 8th grader, Violet Santspree and Junior Devyn Blasz. Assist by Junior Jill Zigenfus. MVP of the game goes to our goalkeeper Sophomore Stella Holl who denied 3 of the 4 PK shots from Seton Catholic to close out our game.
The girls play again at home on Friday vs. Unatego at 3:30 pm!

Who: Boys & Girls in 1st-6th grade
When: Monday November 18th-Thursday November 21st
Where: Groton HS wrestling room.
Time: 6-7 pm
Cost: Free for Groton Residents- Sponsored by the 21st Century Grant
Non-Residents $20
Youth Travel Basketball
Who: Boys & Girls in 3rd-6th grade
When: Practices weeknights starting in December. Games on Saturdays starting in January
Where: Practices at Groton Schools. Games take place in Cortland.
Cost: $75 (includes uniforms)
Youth Wrestling Season
Who: Boys & Girls in 1st-6th grade
When: Grades 1st-3rd practice Monday/Wednesday 5:30-7 pm & Grades 4th-6th Tuesday/Wednesday 5:30-7 pm. Practices start the first week of December.
Where: Groton HS wrestling room.
Time: 5:30-7pm
Cost: $75 (includes T-Shirt and Shorts)


Groton JV fought hard against TAE but ended up with a tough loss of 7-25 & 28-30. Alyciana Stewart led the pack with 4 kills, 1 block and 3 points. Danika Wright chipped in 4 assists, 3 aces, and 6 aces. Cecile Rose tossed up 8 digs and Cain added in 6 digs. Aleah Myers had 2 assists and Zavanna Evans put up 3 aces! JV is back on the road vs Candor on Thursday!
Groton Varsity played a tough TAE team. They battled and showed tremendous growth with a sprinkle of pizzazz :) The scores were 15-25, 20-25, and 20-25! Cami Parker led the crew with 6 assists, 2 points & 1 ace! Joslyn Stanton tossed up 7 digs, 4 assists, 2 aces while Tessa LaTray had 5 digs, 4 kills and 2 points. Caryssa Personius totaled 13 digs and 3 points. Maddy Bishop totaled 3 kills. Varsity will be back in action on Thursday night at Candor!


The Girls Varsity Soccer team played in the IAC Small Schools Championship game on Saturday at TC3 vs. Tioga. The girls fought hard and possessed the majority of the game, coming out the winners in a 2-1 OT victory. This win secured them the title of IAC Small Schools Champions. First goal from Sophomore Remi Marshall and winning goal from Junior Bailey Vliet. Assists by Sophomore Erica Miranda and Junior Devyn Blasz. Goalkeeper Stella Holl with a fantastic game making game saving plays . The girls play at home on Tuesday at 3:30 pm vs. Seton Catholic for the first round of sectionals.


The girls modified soccer team won in overtime last night 3-2 against Union Springs. Carmen Bishop and Alyssa Mejia had the first two goals. Truth Synder scored the winning goal!
The captains this season were Hannah Neville, Emily Cotterill, Coco Jiang, Maddie Weeks, and Leah Allen. The girls ended their season 8-3 overall. Great job!


Groton JV (9-1) had a big win against Union Springs on Wednesday night with scores of 25-12 & 25-22! Alyciana Stewart led the team with 6 kills and one block, Kara Pierce had 6 aces and 13 points, Danika Wright chipped in 3 aces, 6 points & 4 digs. Coleigh Parker added 6 points, Aleah Myers tossed in 3 kills & Cecile Rose picked up 4 digs. The girls will be back in action Friday night at Newfield!
Groton Varsity (4-6) fought hard on senior night but lost with scores of 25-27, 17-25, 25-23 & 23-25. Caryssa Personius took charge with 13 digs, 4 points & 2 aces, Joslyn Staton followed suit with 15 digs, 4 aces, 2 points & 1 kill. Tessa LaTray had a big game with 11 digs & 2 kills, followed with Lacy Batzer totaling 6 points, 4 assists and 3 digs. Caydee Parker tossed in 3 points, 2 aces & 1 dig, Cami Parker added in 4 points, 7 assists & 1 dig. Maddy Bishop had 2 aces, 3 kills while Casandra Mejia had 1 kill & 3 assists. We are back in action Friday night at Newfield!

The Girls Varsity Soccer team fought a hard battle against AAA School Elmira last night ultimately ending in a loss. The girls only allowed 3 goals but held the team to just 1 goal until the final 10 minutes. The girls have closed out their regular season with a 10-3-1 overall record and an 8-1-1 class record. The girls won their North Small Division and will now battle on Saturday at 12 pm at TC3 vs. Tioga for the IAC Small Schools Conference Title.
