Tompkins Cortland Community College is hosting a 3-day STEM Camp on the TC3 campus from Monday, August 10, through Wednesday, August 12.
This "Chip Camp" is FREE due to the generous support of Micron, TST BOCES, OCM BOCES, and TC3.
Registration is open to current 5-6th graders within Candor, Cincinnatus, Cortland, DeRuyter, Dryden, Fabius-Pompey, Groton, Homer, Ithaca, Lansing, Marathon, McGraw, Newfield, South Seneca, Trumansburg, and Tully school districts.
The camp is limited to 100 participants. A completed registration form is required but does not guarantee a spot. We will notify families as soon as possible if your child is accepted.
Activities include building microbits (small robots), coding LED traffic lights, exploring the nano-sized world, creating multimedia art, flying drones, transforming everyday objects into computer controllers, digging into the math of semiconductors, learning about career paths in our Community Science Expo, and visiting the Cornell Nanoscale Facility and Sciencenter for special "behind the scenes" field trips.
Chip Camp Details:
> Camp runs from 8:30-3:30 on Aug 10, 11, and 12. (Drop-off no earlier than 8am and pick-up no later than 4pm.)
> Transportation to and from TC3's campus in Dryden is the responsibility of families.
> Lunch and snacks are provided each day. (List any dietary restrictions in the registration form.)
> While the camp starts and ends at TC3 each day, one day will include field trips (transportation provided).
> A camp t-shirt, water bottle, pen, and drawstring bag will be provided on the first day. This shirt must be worn for the field trips (Day 3 of the camp).
