Good Afternoon, Parents and Guardians, This afternoon at approximately 1:50 PM the Groton Jr./Sr. High School initiated an Evacuation Drill. Around 2:15 PM, we will return to the school, and students will get dismissed to their 9th period classes. We successfully carried out this drill about a year and a half ago. This drill was scheduled in advance, and while such exercises are mandated by the state, they are also a crucial element of our district's safety plan. For safety and security reasons, I am unable to share our final location. Please rest assured that this drill will not affect your students’ dismissal or bus departure times. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to me at bkavanagh@grotoncs.org or call 607-898-5803. Thank you, and have a wonderful day. Brian D. Dear Parents/ Guardians: This message is to inform you that Groton Jr./Sr. High School is conducting a Lockdown Drill today, 10/8/2024, at approximately 1:30 PM with the assistance of Groton P.D. This was a previously scheduled drill and throughout the course of the school year the district conducts announced drills to ensure that our students and staff understand what is expected in case of an actual emergency. While the drills are required by the state, they are also an important aspect of the district’s safety plan. We'd like to thank our students and staff for their cooperation during all of our safety drills and for recognizing the importance of taking each one seriously. As always, if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me: bkavanagh@grotoncs.org or 607-898-5803. Brian D. Kavanagh Principal Groton Jr./Sr. High School
