🌟 Tonight’s Books at Night Adventure 🌟
What happens when you open a book full of RULES?
You meet Mrs. Peck, one of Groton Elementary’s amazing Teaching Assistants, ready to guide you through The Book of Rules!
📖 Why This Book is a Must-Read
Author Jory John (you may know him from The Bad Seed or The Cool Bean) loves to take big life lessons and wrap them in funny, unexpected stories kids can’t put down. In The Book of Rules, Jory flips the idea of “rules” on its head — making them silly, memorable, and meaningful all at once.
🎨 Illustrations that Jump Off the Page
Illustrator Aleshia Jensen adds a playful spark to every page. Her bright, expressive art helps kids see that rules aren’t just words — they’re a chance to imagine, create, and giggle.
👀 Look For These While You Watch
Which rule in the story is your favorite?
Can you spot the silliest picture hidden in the illustrations?
How would you write your OWN classroom or bedtime rule?

Good Morning GES Families,
Today our school paused for a brief moment of silence to honor and remember those impacted by September 11th, 2001. Teachers also spoke briefly with students about the meaning of this day in ways that are age-appropriate for their grade level.
“Even in the darkest times, kindness and courage shine brightest. May this moment remind us of the strength in community and care for one another.”
We wanted you to be aware in case your child comes home with questions or reflections. Thank you for partnering with us in supporting your children as they learn about important moments in history.
