The girls modified soccer team won in overtime last night 3-2 against Union Springs. Carmen Bishop and Alyssa Mejia had the first two goals. Truth Synder scored the winning goal!
The captains this season were Hannah Neville, Emily Cotterill, Coco Jiang, Maddie Weeks, and Leah Allen. The girls ended their season 8-3 overall. Great job!

Groton JV (9-1) had a big win against Union Springs on Wednesday night with scores of 25-12 & 25-22! Alyciana Stewart led the team with 6 kills and one block, Kara Pierce had 6 aces and 13 points, Danika Wright chipped in 3 aces, 6 points & 4 digs. Coleigh Parker added 6 points, Aleah Myers tossed in 3 kills & Cecile Rose picked up 4 digs. The girls will be back in action Friday night at Newfield!
Groton Varsity (4-6) fought hard on senior night but lost with scores of 25-27, 17-25, 25-23 & 23-25. Caryssa Personius took charge with 13 digs, 4 points & 2 aces, Joslyn Staton followed suit with 15 digs, 4 aces, 2 points & 1 kill. Tessa LaTray had a big game with 11 digs & 2 kills, followed with Lacy Batzer totaling 6 points, 4 assists and 3 digs. Caydee Parker tossed in 3 points, 2 aces & 1 dig, Cami Parker added in 4 points, 7 assists & 1 dig. Maddy Bishop had 2 aces, 3 kills while Casandra Mejia had 1 kill & 3 assists. We are back in action Friday night at Newfield!

The Girls Varsity Soccer team fought a hard battle against AAA School Elmira last night ultimately ending in a loss. The girls only allowed 3 goals but held the team to just 1 goal until the final 10 minutes. The girls have closed out their regular season with a 10-3-1 overall record and an 8-1-1 class record. The girls won their North Small Division and will now battle on Saturday at 12 pm at TC3 vs. Tioga for the IAC Small Schools Conference Title.

Groton JV crushed Moravia last night with scores of 25-14 & 25-17. Danika Wright led the team with 6 aces, coleigh Parker chipped in 4 aces, Kara Pierce had 3 aces, Maddy Kelly Beeman had 4 kills, Cecile rose had 6 digs and Aleah Meyers totaled 5 assists!! It was a great team win & they are back in action Tuesday at FOUR pm vs. Indian River!!
Groton Varsity lost in a high intensity four set match. The scores were 19-25, 28-26, 25-27, 22-25. Tessa LaTray played a lights out game with 13 service points, 7 aces, 7 kills and 5 digs! Cami Parker added in 6 points, 2 aces and 13 assists while Lacey Batzer had 6 assists and 4 digs! Abby Haughwout tossed in 6 points, 3 aces, 2 kills & 2 blocks! The Girls Varsity Soccer team won again last night, 3-0, vs. Southern Cayuga. This puts their season record at 10-2-1 with just one final game vs. Elmira at home next Tuesday--6pm. Goals came from Junior Riley Vliet and Addie Clore and with her first Varsity Career goal, 8th grader Violet Santspree. Assists from Juniors Kadyn Casterline and Devyn Blasz.The girls have also won their North Small Schools Division and will be playing in the IAC Small Schools Divisional Championship game on Saturday, October 19th at 12pm. Way to go Lady Red Hawks!

The Varsity Girls Soccer team won again last night vs. Dryden 3-0 in a hard fought battle that involved great field chemistry, aggression, and quick movement on/off the ball. Goals came from Junior Diella Nino and Devyn Blasz and with her first Varsity career goal, Freshman Remi Marshall. Assists by Diella Nino and Remi Marshall.

Varsity lost vs. Spencer but played a very close 3 set match with scores of 21-25, 17-25 & 24-26. Abby Haughwout led the team with 5 kills, 4 blocks & 3 aces, Tessa LaTray had an amazing 9 points and 5 digs, Joslyn Staton brought 6 digs, 2 kills & 2 points, while Caryssa Personius had 7 digs!

Goals came from Junior Jill Zigenfus, Addie Clore, and Devyn Blasz, and from Sophomores Erica Gustafson and Kendall Eldred who scored her first Varsity goal! Assists from Junior Kadyn Casterline, Riley Vliet and two assists by Freshman Remi Marshall. The girls play again away on Tuesday vs. Dryden and home on Wednesday vs. Southern Cayuga.
